    Waiting for the Bus

    • Be on time at the bus stop (no more than ten  minutes ahead of pick-up time recommended).

    Stay off the road while waiting for the bus; use the   areas along the curb.

    Show respect for private property lawns, etc.  

    Stay out of garages.

    On the Bus

    Riding the school bus is a privilege. Violation of the   rules will result in the loss of the bus privileges.

    Properly wear seat belts.

    Move to the rear of the bus when getting on.

    Do not extend hands, arms, head, or other part of   the body out of the window.

    Loud talking, laughing, or unnecessary confusion   diverts the drivers attention and may cause an   accident.

    Never tamper with any bus equipment.

    Treat bus equipment as you would valuable furniture   in your  own home or your own car. Willful damage to   seats, etc. must  be paid for by the offender.

    Assist in keeping the bus clean. Leave no books,   lunches or other articles on the bus.

    Keep the aisles clear of books, band instruments, and   other objects.

    Remain seated while bus is in motion.

    Help look after the safety and comfort of younger children.

    No animals or pets are allowed on the bus.

    No smoking is permitted.

    No inappropriate or offensive language.

    No inappropriate touching of other students.

    No bullying.

    Eating is not permitted on buses for safety reasons.  Remember that students have food allergies you may not be aware of.

    Boarding and Leaving the Bus

    Students may only ride the bus to which they are assigned.

    If it is necessary to cross the road after getting off   the bus, cross at least 10 feet in front of the bus.   Look both ways. Be alert for a danger signal from the driver. 

    The driver will not pick up or discharge riders at places other than the regular bus stop.

     Only students who are designated as bus riders and authorized adults are permitted to board buses.
